When you’ve already been scammed once, the last thing you expect is to fall victim again. But that’s exactly what’s happening to many people who turn to so-called “crypto recovery experts” online — only to be scammed a second time.
Just this week, a new client from the U.S. contacted us after being tricked by a fake recovery service that used a platform called Vinanex Wallet.
What Happened
The client had lost crypto to an initial scam and went online to find help. He came across a “recovery firm” that promised to get his money back — but first, they told him to register on a platform called Vinanex and deposit funds into a wallet that he controlled.
At first, this seemed like a safety measure. But once the deposit was made, the system suddenly couldn’t locate his account or funds. Communication stopped. The “recovery experts” disappeared.
It was all a setup.
How the Vinanex Scam Works
This isn’t an isolated case. These recovery scams are spreading fast, often following the same pattern:
- Step 1: Victim is contacted (or finds) a “crypto recovery expert” online
- Step 2: The victim is told to register on a fake or obscure platform (like Vinanex)
- Step 3: They’re instructed to deposit funds into a wallet under their name — supposedly for “recovery fees,” “activation,” or “processing”
- Step 4: Once the deposit is made, the scammer ghosts the victim or claims the funds “cannot be found”
These fake platforms often simulate legitimate interfaces, but behind the scenes, they’re either empty shells or fully controlled by fraudsters.
Why These Scams Work
Fake recovery scams prey on urgency and trust. After suffering a crypto loss, victims are vulnerable and eager to believe someone can help — especially if that “helper” uses technical terms and claims to be an expert.
The scammers build trust, often even mimicking real blockchain activity or using tools to “prove” they’re tracking funds.
Then, they strike again.

Final Thoughts
Crypto recovery is real — but it has to be done the right way. Scammers are now pretending to be the solution, which makes it even harder for victims to know who to trust.
If you’ve lost funds, don’t give up — but don’t fall for a second scam.
Talk to someone who actually works on the blockchain, not just someone who says they do.
